Clonbonny FC continued their trend of winning a competition every year since their inception as they added the CCFL Division 1/2 Shield to their honours list.
The Bonny, who were pipped to promotion on the last home game of the season, romped home on a 4-1 scoreline against Mullingar Athletic, who themselves
finished the season as runners up in the Division above Clonbonny. Goals from Tamas Lakatos, Eric Farrell, Gearoid O’Neill, Dave Earls ensured the silverware
went to the Athlone side in a game they dominated from start to finish.
