Town Extend Unbeaten Run

League of Ireland Under 19
Athlone Town 4-1 Galway United ST.

On a bitter cold evening in Lecarrow, Athlone Town Under 19’s extended their unbeaten run with a first half blitz of Galway United.

With both pitches in Lissywollen deemed unplayable, Athlone called on the services of their Roscommon neighbours to use the County pitch at Lecarrow for the clash with Galway.

Goals from Jordan Conroy and Ethan Keogh, added to a brace from Eoin McCormack, sent the home side into a 4-0 lead at the break. When the second half came around, Athlone appeared to take their foot slightly off the gas, and although they conceeded a goal they still stayed in control of the game for most of the half.
