Man City Crowned Super Cup Champions

Sun 31th July 2011. Dublin Super Cup
Manchester City 3-0 Inter Milan

Manchester City were crowned the inaugural Dublin Super Cup champions after a 3-0 win over Inter Milan at the Aviva Stadium.
The game was probably the most entertaining and enjoyable of the weekend tournament, mainly because both team fielded pretty much full strenght line ups.
City keeper Joe Hart got into the pre match banter, kicking a few balls into the South Stand as the crowd sang “Theres Only One Shay Given”.

At the other end though, the “banter” was between 2 goons in Man Utd jerseys who plonked themselves in with Man City fans before stewerds sat in between them.

On the pitch, Mario Balotelli showed some of his famed skill on the ball along with some of his equally famed indifference to the game but, for me anyway, David Silva stole the show with a host of mazy runs and attacks on the Milan defence.

Manchester Citys lack of winning though became apparent at full time. After the trophy presentation was made, they were shepparted towards the traditional celebration group photo however all the players stood there looking slightly confused, as Joe Hart struggled to open a bottle of champagne, and then walked off without actually standing on for the shot!
