Ireland Account For Algeria
Friday 28th May 2010 – International Friendly
Republic of Ireland 3-0 Algeria
A brace from Robbie Keane, added to a goal, on his first start, from Paul Green ensured Ireland made it 2 from 2 against South Africa bound teams this week.
Ireland dominated a game in which Algeria never really looked like scoring. A brave diving header from Paul Green, taking a boot in the head for his troubles, gave Ireland a 1st half lead. Robbie Keane got Irelands second, lobbing the ball in after a weak clearance before netting his 2nd from the penalty spot.
Greg Cunningham also made his debut and gave a good account of himself.
