Ireland Earn Dreary Draw
Wedensday 10th August 2011. International Friendly
Republic of Ireland 0-0 Croatia. Aviva Stadium, Lansdowne Road.
The Republic of Ireland extended their upbeaten run to 5 games with a dull and dreary 0-0 draw against Croatia in a half empty Aviva Stadium. Although the scoreline may aswell have read Ireland 0-0 Luka Modric as pretty much every move, from hopeful attack to cautious backpass, went through the Tottenham midfielder!
Despite a decent showing from Shane Long and Stephen Ward, overall the game proved to be a 90 minute snoozefest with a fair chunk of the reported crowd of just over 20,000 leaving before full time.
