Scots Overpower The North
Wednesday 9th February 2011. Carling Nations Cup. Aviva Stadium
Scotland 3-0 Northern Ireland
A convincing win for Scotland in their Carling Nations Cup opener against a Northern Ireland team that were on a par with the Wales side of the previous night!
Despite their poor show on the pitch, the large crowd of Norn Iron supporters definately won the fans battle with loud vocal support … and anger. Although both sides set the tone as they boo’d through each others national anthems!
Amidst renditions of GSTQ, Rule Britannia and “If You Hate Darron Gibson Clap your Hands”, the final few minutes were played out with a “We’ll Support You Ever More” chant … which was quickly drowned out by more, louder, boo’s at the final whistle.
