From Russia With Love

Friday 8th October 2010. Euro 2010 Qualifier
Republic of Ireland 2-3 Russia

A bad day at the office is an understatement on a dire performance from the Boys In Green for Fridays Euro 2010 Qualifier against Russia.
Traps insistance on fielding players who cannot get a game with their clubs was badly exposed with the lack of sharpness and match fitness on display from some of the starting lineup … and it was hardly inspirational to replace Stoke City sub Glenn Whelan with Man Utd sub Darron Gibson!

Despite the pulling 2 goals back, the scoreline definately flatters to deceive a lack lustre Irish performance. On the plus side though the performance of the YBIG Singing Section is improving, and the unveiling of several new flags was a welcome sign.
